1. What is Tet?
Tet or Lunar New Year in Vietnam is the most important traditional festival of Vietnamese around the world. In Vietnam, people also use Chinese lunisolar calendar as a second calendar, Tet often takes place around late January to early February. Being the most important festival to Vietnamese in the year with numerous festive activities, Tet is the time when all offices are closed, all people return to their hometown to gather with families. Our mothers prepare the best signature Tet dishes and decorate them in a more refined way. For Vietnamese people, Tet is the time to relax and enjoy the intimate moments with our beloved ones, especially the family. Children are given special attention and adults, including their parents and relatives give them red envelopes containing lucky money, which is called “lì xì”.
This year, Tet Holidays take place from February 14 to February 20, 2018. Our office in Hanoi, Hue and Saigon will be closed but we are still available on email, Skype and WhatsApp to support you in urgent situations.
Happy Tet Holidays and Happy Lunar New Year to all of you,
