Van Don International Airport Grand Opening - It is now easier than ever to visit Ha Long Bay
Transferring to Ha Long Bay is becoming much easier when the Van Don International Airport becomes operational on December 30, 2019.

Located in Quang Ninh Province the airport is only 50 km from Ha Long Bay - a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Therefore, tourists can catch bus or taxi after landing at the airport. Before, visitors have to transfer from the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and it takes 4 hours by bus to get to the bay. The airport had been built in two years with an investment of VND 7,463 billion. This is the first international airport in Vietnam implemented by a private company: Sun Group, a leading developer of tourism and entertainment projects and services. In the next two years, the airport is expected to receive 2 million passengers a year, and from 2030 will receive 5 million passengers annually.
