1. Visa exemption for European travellers is extended from 1 July 2017

It is a good news for European travellers to Vietnam: you do not have to pay visa fee for travelling period under 15 days. The law will be in force form 1st July, 2017 to 30th June, 2018 in order to attract more tourists from Europe to the country. The visa exemption obviously has a great impact, as a result, Vietnam welcomed 10 millions of tourists in 2016. In the first five months of 2017, international arrivals to Vietnam has reached over 5 million, up to 30.8% compared to same period last year.
2. Hanoi pedestrian zone
From 19.00 to 24.00 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, all vehicles are prohibited in the areas around Hoan Kiem Lake. The shore around lake become an outdoor theaters with lively performances and road activities. It is interesting experience to take a troll around under sparking streetlights and get close to Vietnam’s lifestyle and culture. If you have a free nights in Hanoi, don’t forget to take a tour around this area.
3. The citadel of Hue is open in the evening
If you prefer going out than just sitting and wasting your precious time at hotel during the trip to Hue, there are a part of Hue Citadel still opening in the evening( from 19.00 – 24.00) to welcome travellers ( note: only period from 22th April, 2017 to 15 September, 2017). Come here to enjoy ancient Hue atmosphere and discover another aspect of the citadel under lantern lights. The ticket price is 150.000 VND/person.
4. Kayaking is recommitted – after a month of prohibition
Ha Long bay management announced that kayaking is now available in use after a few months of temporary banning. Cruise operation and services such as boating and kayaking will be handle with care by the management.
5. Operate a daily flight Emirates Airline Dubai - Hanoi
Emirates Airline launched daily flights from Hanoi to Dubai on July 2, 2017. The direct flights will be operated on two Boeing 777- 300ER aircraft with 42 seats Business Class (with generous carriage amount up to 40kg) and 386 seats economy class (with carriage amount up to 35kg).
6. Hanoi: Leisure night up to 2am from 1st September
From 1st September 2016, the opening time of restaurants, bars, and cafes in Hanoi is extended until 2:00am on the weekend instead of only midnight as before. It is considered as an effective measure to develop tourism in Hanoi.
All commercial activities after midnight must be declared to the Hoan Kiem People’s Committee and comply with security requirements. The sale and consumption of alcohol to minors is prohibited particularly.
It is a good news for those who enjoy nocturnal recreation. Thanks to the decision, it is promised to increase in tourist spending and make Hanoi is more attractive in tourist’s eyes.
